I'm wondering if it's just me this year. I am buying less from Amazon that most years so far, but still about 3-4 orders per week (mix of small and big things).
I never really have issues. Maybe 2-4 issues a year. I've already chatted with them about some issues and am actually afraid to chat more, because I know they can officially "kick" you out as a customer. Issues I am sitting on; I ordered a two-pack of cat flashlights as stocking stuffers for $5.41. I only received one. Amazon directed me to discuss with the seller. Seller came back and said Amazon fulfilled it, so I have to deal with them. Amazon want's me to ship it back....I just want my other flashlight. the two packs are now triple the cost or more!! Batteries: I bought some duracell batteries. I was supposed to receive a $5 credit to my account, once they shipped. nothing is there..... Dollhouse: lights and sounds do not work. We just gave this to DD over teh weekend and she is really upset, as I am. I'm just afraid to "chat" with them because I'm not sure of the resolutions there may be. I suspect I will have to return the flashlights and not give any to the kids. I might have to "refuse" the batteries since the $5 promo is what made the offer competitive. Not sure what will happen with the dollhouse as DD would freak if we even attempted to ship it back ....not that we would be able to package it back up the correct way! and, if I call amazon, will they get pissed at me or think I am causing trouble?

I posted in the bargains forum about my experience with a 50 dollar credit I was supposed to receive as part of a lightning deal. I had a horrendous time and had to go to bat about 4 different times with CS to get it fully resolved. In the first go-round via chat, the CS rep blatantly lied to me, and that made things even more complicated to fix (caused me to cancel an order I actually wanted).
It was not. fun. eta: I had to take screen shots of the chats, etc. to get things resolved.

I've never had a problem with them in the past. But today I recieved a second shipment of the same order. It was a $7 HDMI cable. I sent a message asking what to do and got a response within 5 minutes with a return mailing label. I was kind of hoping they'd say to just keep it since its such a small item, but I guess I did the right thing. Just sort of a hassle when I have a million other things to do right now.

I haven't had those kind of issues with them, but their in stock stuff and shipping has become a problem. We do gifts for our employees at Christmas (they get a $ amount to spend and provide a list, we get the gifts) and a number of things "in stock" are now not arriving for 2-3 weeks.
Aggravating.

Yeah, I haven't even been *opening* boxes yet so who knows what is lurking that i need to sort out!
As an aside, when the kinect/xbox shipped from amazon, it was signature required. Tracking updated while I was out of town and said no one was there to sign. My parents were house sitting and literally watched UPS pull up, drop and run with the other packages. They never rang the doorbell or attempted to solicit a signature. Frustrating (although that was on UPS, not amazon). I know it is time consuming to ring and wait for someone to sign, but my UPS pick up would have been an hour plus drive! I wasn't happy that one of the three attempts was used up when they didn't even make an attempt, and I didn't want my parents to feel like they were under house arrest and couldn't leave to do things for fear of missing attempts 2 and 3. It worked out but sheesh. Totally not amazon's fault, but annoying. UPS cust. svc. was like "oh, if you miss it you can just pick up." Ummm, not really wanting to drive one hour plus each way to pick up a package if I can help it, thanks!

I have this year...I posted about it here they cancelled two orders of mine one with a Leappad in it and the other with Zelda the Sword video game.(both of which they had in stock and it was sold by them when I ordered)...I had to call several times and at first they lied and blamed FedEx and then just kept saying like robots...:"sorry....but there is nothing we can do...not our fault....warehouse fault....can't give credit....sorry...sorry sorry!" (I did eventually get a $10 credit from a second manager after they canceled the video game but it took a lot of complaining!)
It was a long and frustrating day! And honestly even though they don't care I have been shopping more locally because of it or with different websites it isn't as convienient as Amazon but I am still a bit ticked with them! (Still searching for a Leappad for DS2 keep missing them being in stock with the different alert websites) Sorry you are having an issue with them too but it is not only you this year! |

I didn't end up ordering with the B&N big online sale (nothing I really needed and I ended up picking up two toys in store that I did need), but the way they handled things didn't seem too hot either, from what I can tell. And who was it...wellyes maybe? that had the issues getting resolution from Target?

I'm sorry to hear that so many people are having problems and it makes me nervous about my outstanding orders. I guess I have been lucky this year because I haven't had any issues with their CS. I order A LOT from Amazon but if something is defective, I always return it (with a prepaid label from Amazon). I've probably returned at least 6 items this year, either because of a defect, shipping damage, or wrong item shipped. I know they were "blacklisting" people a few years ago for making frequent returns, but I haven't heard of it lately.

expired rice cereal from BabiesRus-they refused to give me my $4 back and insisted on a replacement order...which came more expired than the first. Seriously??? I'm on house-arrest with these twins , why do you think I was crazy enough to order rice cereal in the first place. I didn't need to spend 2+ hours on the phone , during 4 calls, to finally get my money back. I'm just disappointed in amazon. I've never had issues like this before and the CS chats are downright insulting. I choose the chat option, because I can link the order # that I am having issues with. why do they always respond with , "what order # are you referring to?" Oh...I know why, because it's likely a stall tactic to buy them time since they probably have 10 chats going on at once!
