Default Anyone do laser hair removal?

Thinking about getting this done. I have very dark hair and somewhat light skin, and heard that's a good combo. How much did it cost? How long did it take? The idea of not waxing and shaving sounds fabulous to me!

It's been a long time since I did this so don't remember the details, but tx lasted over several months, I think. You have the perfect combo. for this (contrast of light vs. dark). I would do it before summer if you can as tanned skin is harder to treat (less contrast). Use sunscreen diligently!

I am so glad I had it done! It was quite expensive, and I just did my face! (can't remember how much, though). I had thick chin hairs, and it removed those, so it was worth it for me. The lighter hairs remain as there wasn't enough contrast to zap them, however, and I shave those from time to time (yes, sounds crazy but it works out fine - don't believe all the old wive's tales about it growing faster or thicker). Perhaps the technology has improved..

I did the underarms and bikini. If I remember correctly it was $100 for 3 sessions, and it normally takes 6 sessions to get rid of the hair (I'm like you, dark hair, light skin). So it was $200 for the underarms, and $200 for the bikini.

It is GREAT. I should have done it years ago. One thing: ask for numbing gel in advance (when making the appointment) because it is painful. very. painful.

Get numbing gel, schedule it for mid-cycle if you can (at least for ME that makes a huge difference) and take a painkiller half an hour before going in.

I have done it for upper lip/chin, and am now working on bikini. It hurts A LOT, the upper lip is brutal. I need to look into the numbing gel. Seriously I can barely stand it, and I have been waxing for years.

That said, it is awesome. I had my bikini done once and there has barely been any regrowth. I haven't had my lip done in a while and it could use a touchup, but the hair that's there is SO light and fine, not what I used to have! (Used to have to wax every 2 weeks.)

Right now I am doing a Groupon session, 3 for $120 which is a bargain. Usually around here it's about $100 or more per session.

I am now officially scared of the pain, but I guess it would be worth it to go through it for a few months and never need to wax again! Thanks for the feedback.
