Default Prayer and PT request - Update!

Tomorrow morning my little one is going under GA for a minor procedure.

The logical side of me knows the procedure is minor, the risks are so small and the hospital is excellent.

The mama bear side is in a complete panic. (and on ativan )

If you have a second and could send some P & PTs Sam's way for a quick and perfect GA and procedure I would really, really appreciate it.

And if you have any BDTD of GA with a really young child, that would be awesome too!

Thanks mamas!

Both of my DSs have had GA when they were young. DS1 when he was 6 mo and 12 mo, 4, and recently and DS2 when he just turned 3. The idea is scary but the reality wasn't a fraction as hard as I thought it would be. Sending big, big , P+PT, and remember that it is routine and soon your sweet DC will be snuggled in your lap.

Prayer and PT coming your way.

Arwyn went under GA to get her tonsils and adenoids out this spring. It all went off without a hitch. The staff and facility was completely set up for little kids. They took her on a wagon ride to the OR, singing some silly song. When they brought her back she was shivering so they gave me a heated blanket, and she slept on me for over an hour, ate a popsicle, slept some more. I was worried about her freaking out when waking up, but she was quiet as a mouse, just cold. Her recovery was really quick and smooth too.

Prayers for Sam and for you.

(Don't worry if he is confused and combative coming out of it. DS was for about fifteen minutes and I'm told it's not unusual. That was the only rough spot for us.)

P&PT coming your way. DS had GA for a minor procedure over the summer and he wasn't much older than your little guy. His procedure was quick and uneventful, but that time in the waiting room was the longest in my life!

P & PT for you and your little one! DS1 had GA at 8 months and DD at 8 weeks. Both did fine with it though it was still nerve-racking for me (and DH is an anesthesia provider!) Good luck with the procedure.

P&PT -- it is scary as a parent for sure. DS1 had GA for a routine operation. DS2 has had GA 3x once for brain surgery and 2x for ENT work. I HATE it but the docs are amazing and DSs have always done fine (it is the parents who are a mess!)
