Right now, DD's school only does PE/gym once per week. They have recess every day except gym day. In DD's grade, they aren't required to dress out for PE, only wear sneakers. I was at school yesterday and noticed a class coming out of the gym for water. ALL the boys had either athletic pants or those long basketball shorts on. ALL of the girls had their regular clothes on (skirts, jeans). I usually don't dress my DD any different for gym (no dresses, but I'll let her do jeans and t-shirt). Now I'm rethinking that. But do they even have clothes like that for girls? All I've seen is super short athletic shorts for girls, and the boys are wearing knee length. What do you have your DD wear on PE days?

DD wears her normal clothes, usually a dress and leggings or yoga pants.

DD usually wears sweat pants or yoga pants and a shirt on gym days. It's just easier for her to run around, etc if she's not in jeans. A dress would be in the way, I think.

They don't change for gym at ds1's school and the kids wear uniforms. So, the kids wear regular clothes to gym class (khaki pants, shorts, skorts or skorts and polos).

My dd wears yoga type pants and a comfortable shirt and tennis shoes every Tuesday for gym day.

My DD is just in Kindergarten. She has PE twice a week and recess everyday (providing its not raining or freezing out). She just has to wear sneakers for gym day. So I let her wear anything except for skirts or dresses. Usually jeans or leggings/knit pants.

We have PE every day, the kids don't change but if they are wearing "cute" shoes they change into sneakers for PE...most kids in elementary school aren't so dressed up/not wearing comfy clothes for PE...and they don't do gymnastics or anything like that so regular clothes are fine.

Definitely sneakers, and I try to have them wear jeans or knit/yoga type pants. Sometimes they insist on dress/leggings though.

Now that DD is in 3rd grade, we've finally masted their gym clothes!
Both DDs complain that it is soo hot in gym even in the winter. I had to get them each several sets of tracksuits that they wear with short sleeved shirts. They wear the jacket part until gym them have the option of taking it off and putting it back on when they cool off. Jeans are a no-no as are long sleeves.
