Default What can I buy for my husband that my son can give to him?

My husband's birthday is right around the corner and I wanted to get him a little something, nothing big, that I could address to him from our son. Yes, our son is only 1.5 years old, but I love doing that sort of thing. I feel like a real jerk too b/c my husband had my son bring me a card and a little pin for Valentine's Day and this time I didn't even think to buy a Daddy card for him. Doh! I've already given him a framed family pic of the three of us, and a mug with pics of him and our son on it. He loves both and uses them at work. So maybe something similar? I really can't think of anything this time, and I need to buy it within the next few days. Help! What do you buy your spouses as gifts from your children? I know I'll have the same issues coming up with something for Father's Day too this year.

Nice shaving stuff? Dh got into nicer quality shaving products in the last year (Jaeger razor, shaving soap, etc.). I have given him small sized Art of Shaving items (Sephora carries online) in his stocking and he got a travel kit for V-day.

Do you have a pottery place near by? My DC made a mug for DH for father's day last year and he adores it. The painting on the mug is really messy and not perfect but that's what makes it so special. DH uses that mug all the time.

Along the same lines, if you live near a Michael's or similar, get a paint your own frame, have DS "help" (the messier, the more authentic) make it and put a picture of the two of them in it.

Oh I love that! Adorable. He does "artwork" when he goes to daycare, but I've been to scared to do it at home with him. I fear him running thru the living room smearing paint on the walls. I'm too afraid to take him to a pottery place just yet (good idea too though!), but maybe a little simple art work at home.. Is there a way to make it a bit less messy than reg paint and brushes for a <2 year old though?

Any more ideas? I'd love to hear them..

I've bought several great "Daddy and me"-type books for DH "from" DS that DH loves to read to the kids at bedtime.

paint in the backyard if you are worried about mess (and a cheapie flannel backed tablecloth on the ground - I got one off freecycle for this)

Recently read The Secret Life of Bees (good) and the 3rd Secret Zoo book (DS read ahead to number 4 and is now mad at the author - he won't be reading Harry Potter any time soon). Almost finished Love in the Present Tense (so good).

Strap him into his high chair out of reach of the walls with some sort of splash mat underneath if necessary. Use washable paint and have him in old clothes or just a diaper. It should be fine.

And straight to the tub when he's finish. THat way the painting has some time to dry before DS tries to move it....

I usually get a book that I think they will both enjoy. For Hanukkah, DH got this one from DS:
