Default Question to owners of stick vacs...

I have wanted a stick vac for a long time. Just seems so handy. I'm sick of bending over to use the dustbuster. I'm sick of lugging the full size vac out of the closet.

We have a 1000 sf condo, half tile/half carpet. 2 cats. If I get the stick, could it be my one and only?

Fwiw, I would get the Hoover Linx (b/c I have read it is better on carpet compared to the Ergorapido).

Thanks!

You'd need at least 1 (probably 2) extra batteries. Ours is great for quick post dinner kitchen cleanup but I still like our Miele for big cleaning.

You get about 15 min per charge on the Linx batteries.

By one and only do you mean if it could replace your full-size vac? If that's the case the answer is no, they're great for everyday clean-up, but don't have the suction of a real vacuum, so they won't do an in-depth cleaning, especially on carpet and upholstery.

I wouldn't want mine to clean carpet. I get my big vac out to clean our area rug deeply.

I think you'll definitely need a full size vacuum for the carpeted areas. I do love my Ergorapido though!

Yeah, I was hoping (b/c our place is so small) that a stick would suffice for all our vaccuuming needs.

So, is it more appropriate to see a stick as a dustbuster replacement?

Our dustbuster is dying, and we're tired of our full-size (it's really heavy and loud), so I am trying to figure out what the best new purchase(s) would be.

Exactly. It's a dustbuster that lets you clean without bending over! It also replaces the broom and dustpan IMO. I like my Ergo because you can pop out the smaller one to use on higher surfaces. I use it for everyday clean up after meals, but still do a weekly vacuuming with our Dyson. For small spaces though I'd probably look at a Miele.

I use our Dyson for wall to wall, Miele for hardwood and area carpets and the Linx for the quickie stuff.

I would definitely need two vacuums. I have the ergo and it's great for quick pick up, but the suction is lacking and it definitely does not do a deep vacuum.

I also have the Ergo and love love love it for quick pick ups.
I do use it on carpet daily (9x12) as a quick touch up, but bring out the big guns twice a week.
The ergo is great for hardwood and the hand held that pops out is rally good on my hard wood stairs.
