I have three friends who named their sons Nolan last year. THREE. They were all born within a month or two of each other also. It's definitely burning up the popularity chart, IMO!

If you're going for unique, I think Whitaker is the best of your list. I actually really like it (and I'm not, generally, a fan of unique names) and like the idea of using Whit as a nickname. I don't know what middle name would be best with it.

Like others, I think Clayton Henry sounds the best.

Other names you might consider:
Emmett
Elden
Harrison
Finn
Emery

I love Whitaker but I think DH is less enthused. I think we would like to use either Clayton or Rivers as first or middle since they are family names. It's interesting how popularity differs by region. In our area, I don't know any Nolans or Henrys. Don't think I've met a Clayton but I have met one adorable Whitaker.

I really like Whitaker, and Whit is a great nickname. I think Henry Clayton is nice. I don't know any Henrys. I can't help but think Nolan Ryan when I hear Nolan. Like Peyton will always be a quarterback's name to me (and I really don't get why anyone would name a baby girl that!)

Nolan is one of the top on our list too. I don't know any in our area, but I did find that it seems to be moving up in popularity.

Clark is a favorite of mine. I know two "little" Clarks and it was on the short list for this baby. I love Whit too, but I would use Whitman because I love the poet.

Henry and Nolan are popular in my circles, but I think all your names are great.

I voted for, "Henry Clayton." I like the name, "River," however, I have never heard the name, "Rivers," before, so it seemed like plural River doesn't flow as well as singular River.

I could see Clayton Whitaker or Henry Whitaker, but Whitaker Clark just has to many Rs and Ks - it is hard for me to say.
