Thanks for the input guys!

I honestly think that even if we had the time - the kids don't have the tolerance for more than a morning at any attraction anyway. I am starting to lean towards the 'none of the above' option now, although goldenpig certainly makes a good case for the zoo.

I might ask my eloquent 3 year old if she would like to see the animals or play on some swings/slides!

I agree that the theme park-type options might be too much for your time frame. I'd agree that Balboa park or one of the beach areas like La Jolla Cove are good options. La Jolla Shores has a nice kids playground.
