Default How to baby proof second floor windows?

My DS is a big climber and will move toys and chairs in order to climb up to see out our windows. He's safe with the windows closed because for now he's too short to actually open the window but with the warmer weather I want to open the windows. Any recommendations? I hate the look of the guards with the bars and found a mesh one by Kidco any experience with this?

Thanks!

We went with the Guardian Angel window guards (bars). I don't love the look either, but they are easy to use and are sturdy/strong.
