Default Buying Formula In Bulk

Our 11 week old has been supplementing with the BJ's brand formula for close to a month now and hasn't had any issues. BJ's has a $5 off in store coupon until May 2 and the financial side of me thinks it would be a great idea to buy a bunch of cans since that is essentially 25% off the regular price.

How many of you had to switch formulas after using one for a while because your baby started having issues? Or do most babies stick with a formula for the duration of it's use?

Would it make sense to buy a bunch of cans? The expiration dates for the cans are currently 11/2014 so we would use them well within that time frame. The downside is that BJ's only has a 30 day return policy if they would even take any of the unopened cans back.

I don't have a lot of experience, but I noticed you haven't had any replies yet.

Once we found a formula Ds2 would drink, we stuck with it and didn't change again. We use Costco brand which is closest to Similac. I think buying ahead would be fine, so long as you have somewhere to store it that isn't too hot, which could lead to spoiling. Costco has a 1 year return policy so we weren't worried about returns, but we also didn't usually buy more than 2-3 cans at a time.

It might be worth asking how often the have that coupon.

We bought formula for both DS and DD in bulk through a friend of ours who worked for the company that makes Similac. We bought a case a time at a discounted price. My DD used that formula exclusively after I stopped pumping and never needed to switch. My DS had reflux issues and tried one specialized formula (we only bought a small can) but went back to Similac and used that the rest of the time.

I wasn't too worried about buying in bulk bc I did have a few other moms that used the same formula that I knew would buy it from me if needed.
