The stroller is for my DS3 who is 8 months old.
I take daily walks in my neighborhood. I don't really off road but DS3 likes a smooth ride. We encounter many curbs. We currently ride in an MBUD and it is AWESOME but we do have to use the UV cover to keep the sun out of DS3's eyes. He needs a good canopy! I go fairly frequently to theme parks and zoos. I like good storage, good steering and a stroller that is not too difficult to fold or put into my trunk. (Honda CRV) I previously used my P3 as my "one and only" single in those places and loved it for years. Now I'm spoiled by my MB push and can't get excited about using it even at museums! Right now I confess I use a stroller frame for quick errands. It was a gift from DH's work and I like that I don't have to remove DS3 from his car seat. He really doesn't spend much time in there and protests every single time he gets in and out of his seat. I'm really feeling the need to replace my MBUD BUT I'm wondering if I pick the right single, I might be able to replace my P3 as well. My budget would be around $300 to $400 (but less is just fine, lol) I'm totally open to used but I want to LOVE my stroller. Any thoughts? I thought maybe GT or MB Swift. Could I be happy with these for my walks after being spoiled by my MBUD? Albee baby has a BJCE in black for $310 (it is so pretty!). I know the runway MBUJ are on sale and they are lovely. Or of course BOB's are on sale. But these guys are so much bigger, right? Or should I just do used and get a true AT and a Mini or Gluxe for Disney and malls? WWYD? FWIW, I had ONE stroller (my p3) for the last four years and was quite happy! What can I say, my MB experience spoiled me! |

You pretty much described my stroller experience! Had a P3 as our one and only with DD1, added an MBUD when DS was born and it stole my heart away. Now DD2 is 6 months old, DS usually is on his bike or walking so we don't use the double very often, but I had a hard time going back to the P3. Bought an 06 MB single off CL last month and we loooooove it! We use it all.the.time. with DS in baseball, going to parks almost daily, walking to the in laws house, working in the yard, etc. I love the MB sun cover for our double and ordered one for the single today - so nice not to have to sunscreen the baby constantly, plus keep mosquitos and wasps away! Used the storm cover last week when the wind turned DS' baseball game into a dusty mess, and DD2 watched the game in perfect comfort.
So I'd say - go MB. I wanted one of the NZ made models, so buying used got me that and saved me money.

MommyAllison, I think I truly want an MB. I know BOB is awesome. I played around with a new one at BRU and it was nice but if I could find the perfect used MBUS I'd be all over it.
I'm loving the sun cover too.

I had a MB as my one and only single for 3 years, and it was great. Mine was fixed wheel actually, but as I used the stroller mostly outdoors, that didn't bother me too much. The size wasn't an issue, and the push was excellent. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that strollerqueen in the past has often recommended a MBUS to people who want just one, do-it-all stroller.
I had an BJ double, and the quality (fabric, wheels, push) was not nearly as good as MB. The only thing I liked better was the BJ's mesh windows in the canopy. I sold my MB, though, as I wanted something with a regular front wheel so I could add a HH. I bought a Valco Quad, and love it. It could definitely be a one-and-only single if you don't want to off-road a lot (handles grass, mulch, etc. well, but not good on trails or for running, obviously). Finally, I also have a BOB duallie. I like it a lot as a double, and picked it over the MBUD because the MBUD was just too hard for me to lift into the car. But if I were getting a single, I'd probably get a MB before a BOB. The MB is narrower, I think. Or at least it seems less bulky to me, maybe because of the larger wheels. (If you want a BOB, you could look at the CE with the 12" wheels in back.) The BOB push is amazing, canopy is great, lots of room for my kids, and resell is fabulous. But, I just prefer the styling of MB, and the adjustable handlebar. Either one would be great. If I were you, I would get either and MBUS or a Swift (or maybe a MBUJ, but I prefer the NZ made MB, and the smaller canopy doesn't really bother me). |

If you are in love with the push of your MB double, I would stick with something that has all air tires. Some models such as BJ have forever air/ foam and the push isn't quite the same. I am a huge fan of MB and have also owned a BOB.

If you want it to be a car stroller, I think the MB Swift would work well for you. I have had mine for almost a year, and it is my most-used stroller right now. The UB Vista is getting no love. I don't keep it in my car because I use it for walks every morning (Mac Quest) lives in the car, but if I'm doing something outdoors, the Swift goes into the car. It is compact enough to fit in stores, dr. offices, etc. I can't imagine taking a BOB into a Dr. office.

My Swift was my only car stroller for a good year and a half before I bought my Bee+. I still bring it in the car if I am going to need to offroad. Before I had a car double, I sometimes threw both my Bee & Swift in the car for my littles.
