This LA-based crib importer sells a small collection of traditional and convertible cribs to a handful of independent stores nationwide. Eden offers five collections with matching dressers, armoires, hutches and combo dressers. The styling is very plain vanilla, with prices running in the $500 to $600 range. For example, the Moderno (a two tone mid-century design) runs $552, while the Melody (a traditional style) runs $612. A three-drawer dresser starts at about $400. This brand is imported from China and is sold online by Sears and Amazon, among other sites.

In the past year, Eden has expanded their modern and contemporary-styled offerings. Example: the Madison crib (pictured) is $550 and a matching dresser is $630.

As for Eden’s quality, we are not impressed (some dressers featured stapled drawers that lacked a smooth glide). Given the competition on the market, Eden needs to step up the quality in order to better compete at these prices.

That said, the reviews on the modern crib have been positive—folks are understandably happy at finding a decent modern crib for less than $1000! However, we’d probably suggest folks look at Baby Mod (Million Dollar Baby), for a similar look from a brand that has a better quality track record. Rating: C+
