Product Reviews Child Carriers
Need to get some fresh air? Just because you have a baby doesn’t mean you can never go hiking again. Backpack manufacturers have responded to parents’ wish to find a way to take their small children with them on hikes and long walks. The good news is that most of these frame carriers are made with lightweight aluminum, high quality fabrics and well-positioned straps. Accessories abound with some models including sunshades, diaper packs that Velcro on, and adjustable seating so Junior gets a good view.
For those up for long hikes with baby, a frame carrier is a great option. Our favorite is the Kelty Transit 3.0 (left, $187-$230). It’s comfortable for parents and baby, easy to use and reasonably priced.
If you’ve just inherited a bit of money from a long lost uncle, the Deuter Kid Comfort II (below, $250) would be an excellent choice here. It’s got everything you could ever need: adjustability, storage and great safety features. It’s just ridiculously expensive.
