Product Reviews Child Carriers
Hip carriers are a minimalist version of the sling. With less fabric to cradle baby, they generally work better for older babies (over six months). Baby is in a more upright position all the time, rather than lying horizontally. And like a sling, the hip carrier fits across your body with baby resting on your hip.
With so many carriers available on the market that can be converted from a front carrier to a hip carrier to a back carrier, it's hard to find a one function option. If you have an older child and want to try hip carrying, the best option is the Original Hip Hammock for $54. It's easy to use and easy on your wallet. Just make sure you avoid the Playtex Hip Hammock.
