I posted in the carseat forum and when I read the reply I noticed that there was a subheading under my name that I did not put there. How do I get rid of it/change it?

Thanks,
Heather

I was just coming here to ask the same thing!
I am NOT ready for a booster seat!

The subheading denotes your level on the boards, as in how many postings you have made. Instead of doing things like junior member, senior member, etc., they came up with cute names. I don't think you can do anything to remove or change it.

Well, that's lame...

I certainly am not ready to deliver! I was last year at this time but not now!

Maybe they could provide a list of the names of the levels so as not to confuse people. I was confused and started searching the site to figure out how to alter the text.

I just replied to see what mine was... :)

Once you start to see them all and know the explanation, it makes much more sense. But I thought they just had bad info about me...

Alan & Denise establsihed these with the release of the new forum. It is very standard in forums these days to have user levels that denote the length of membership or number of posts. There are lots of ways to do it, including this method; alot of forums will name those levels things that are indicative of the subject matter in an effort to be witty or amusing. For instance "ready to deliver" means you're a member with very few posts. Wizard means you're at the highest level of posts. Post numbers are an important way of denoting the newness of a member. Alan & Denise with the mods developed these user levels. If you're unfamiliar with this, that's understandable if the BBB is your only message board, as the DCForum was reeeeeealy old stuff. These user levels are part of the robustness that I referred to earlier. The levels are as follows:

Newbie! - 0 posts
Ready to Deliver - 25 posts
Walking the Halls at Night - 50 posts
Browsing Baby Food - 200 posts
Ready for a Booster Seat - 500 posts
Old Enough to Clean Own Room - 1000 posts
Parent Zen Master - 2000 posts
Wizard - 3000 posts

They are not changeable by user.

Thanks for posting that Fairy, I was wondering what the levels are & couldn't find them anywhere.

Thanks. I get it now. That's pretty cool that I have 500 posts. I had no idea. BBB is my only forum right now, so I had no idea how this was done. Thanks for the explanation.

I'm so close to being a Wizard. A Britax Wizard? :) I do hope I get some special powers!

I understand and appreciate the attempt at light-heartedness but I am concerned that it may be offensive to some as Zen is a part of one's faith.
Out of sensitivity to others, it makes me uncomfortable.

I have to say that I LOVE mine. It is especiallly funny as my poor little (35 pound) almost 5 year old can't wait to exchange her harness carseat for a booster seat, but at the rate she gains weight, she will be almost 6 when that time comes!

Wizard? Um, no offence to anyone, but is that supposed to mean that I know something about parenting or shopping or ????? Because, today of ALL days, I don't feel like I particularly know squat about any of the above.

Now, if it means that I'd rather spend time on the boards here than finding a new @#$%^ cleaning lady b/c mine just quit (after 3 blissful years) to take a "real" job, well then I guess that makes me a wizard. Or maybe a lizard.

How about "Goddess of all things involving shopping" for 3000 posts? I can live with that. I'd rather shop than most other things domestic.

I like the idea of the cute names, but I think we could do better. They're ok, but I bet the creative mamas (and papas!) on this board could come up with some really clever ideas. What about asking people to submit ideas and then we could have a poll to vote on them?

I wish I had some ideas, but I'm probably the least creative person in the history of the world! :p I know there are a ton of really creative people in this community, though!
