I've been looking for good-quality colorful wooden blocks for DD. I had been planning to get her the box of Heros blocks (made in Germany) online. We were at an old-fashioned toy store the other day (almost all wooden, European toys) and I saw a box of 50 colorful wooden blocks made by a German co., Eichhorn (which appears to be a subsidiary of Ravensburger). Here's the link:

After buying them and opening them up, I noticed they're Made in China. I'm not opposed to all MIC toys, but I know that painted wooden toys are among the highest concern for lead. They're really attractive and my DD loves them, but the wood/paint quality seems a little closer to M&D than say Haba, or Plan toys. Anyway, now I'm paranoid that these are somehow unsafe. Anyone have experience with these blocks, or know anything about Eichhorn/Ravensburger's safety standards? TIA for any advice!
