Edited to add: Okay, I did an on-line search and find several that could fit the bill. Does anyone actually have a toy globe that they like? Thanks.

Does this exist? I think I bought something like this for another child a few years back, but I can't seem to find it now. I would like to buy dd, sort of a to toy globe that would be good for an almost 5 year old. One that mostly resembles a regular globe, perhaps with a little less detail if necessary...maybe it would have buttons that you press that tell about the different parts of the world or something like that? I bought dd a Dora Adventure TV globe, and I hate it. Its like a video game and going back to the store. I have seen some things like I describe, but they have been over $70 and I am not willing to spent that much? Anyone know of anything?

Thanks,

we have some fancy-schmancy globe (got as a wedding present)
DS - 3 years - loves it... he would spin it every day if he could and try to find where everyone lives.

he is also fasinated with the floor globe my parents have at their house.

here are a few that would be great for the abuse of an interested child.

I am looking for one for my 5.5 year old but am looking for a standard, sturdy globe- no bells or whistles. Having said that, Oregon Scientific makes an interactive one that is on sale at Target until today.

Costco has a talking one with buttons.I saw it in the store, noted that it was rated for 5+, but didn't note the brand. Costco online has two by Oregon Scientific -- a "junior" and a regular.
