Lets recreate it while there are still some shopping days left. :)

For a 4 and 1/2 year old boy:

-2 wheeler bike with training wheels
-Wooden Dollhouse, partially furnished
-Some play food, a little wood and a little felt. Mostly breakfast themed stuff.
-A bunch of vintage Sesame Street books
-Sesame Street Old School Volume 2
-A wooden sesame street train that is thomas/brio compatible that I got at a used store.
-Tango Makes Three book

Oh and also:

-Human Body book and puzzle- he is obsessed with anatomy.
-Learn to Spell Puzzle card set
-Wooden Unit Blocks

For stocking, we have Cars movie cars, teeny tiny doll house accessories (like flowers in vase, cake, cereal boxes) and assorted other little stuff that is totally slipping my mind right now, LOL. ETA: Remembered: Brain Quest Cards, can of olives (special kind, he loves olives), candy plus I will put in fresh fruit like a pear and an orange to keep tradition from my childhood.

From relatives, what they have told me:

-Toy food sushi set
-FP Digital Camera
-Cars movie stuff, some cars and I think that track thing-y.
-Art Stuff
-Brain Quest Cards
-Polar Express DVD

Wooden doll house partially furnished
Calico Critter family
Mini Groovy "boy" and scooter (if I can find one IRL)
Assorted schleigh animals (pets and horses)
Playdoh cooking set
Meet the Robinsons Figurines

There are a few other assorted things DH has been picking up on clearance that I can't think of right now. And I'm sure we'll pick up other small things as time goes on.

The Scheich animals and magnifying glass will be in the stocking but I haven't decided if that will be all.

I'm ridiculously embarrassed by the amount of stuff I got DS, but what the heck, I'll play.

DS (will be 10 months on January 1st)

From Santa - Radio Flyer Walker Wagon

Haba Le Grand Voyage pull-toy
Haba Discovery Blocks
Kathy Kruse Light Blue Nicki Baby
Taggies Grabby Elephant
Taggies Blanket
Baby Signing Times DVD/CD Gift Set
Your Baby Can Read! DVD/Flash card collection
Eric Carle Alphabet Flash Cards
Selecta Battino (so cool!)
Melissa & Doug Stacking Trio
Music Set (drum, maracas, tambourine)
And I bought over 50 books (I know, I know, but I couldn't help myself) from SortFloorBooks.com...I'll probably give him about 20 for Christmas, and save the rest for his birthday

Stocking Stuffers - Haba mice, Grannies Monkey Rattle, Togu Dot Ball, two playsilks, Anamalz elephant & giraffe, 2 Bajo cars, Haba pirate clutch toy, Haba bath book & squirting pirate, Baby Einstein Discovery Cards, Plan Toys fish castanets & waddling penguin, Selecta snail

I know, it's ridiculous. But for the record, DS really did need toys - I haven't bought him hardly any new toys since he was born, and he's getting bored with the stuff he has (which is mostly appropriate for 0-6 months). So it's stuff I would have bought over the next few months anyway. And if we're being perfectly honest, the Signing Times and Reading DVDs are for me too...gives Mommy a nice 30-minute break every day! :)

Ack! Lost my post.

DD and DS are sharing an Elves and Angels kitchen and fridge as their big present (replacing an older more rickety kitchen we currently have). I'm hoping to make some more playfood if I can get a few minutes time ;)

DD will be just over 1 at Christmas. She's getting:
Spiel und Holz stacking arches/nesting arches in the larger size
Spiel und Holz ring stacker

for her bday (I'll include that since it is a few weeks before Christmas) she's getting the Haba Kugelbahn set (the large-scale ball track)

For her stocking:
chenillechef icecream cone
small hankie sized playsilks that DS helped me dye today
hair clips/bows
ornament
freeze dried blueberries
CA Baby babywash
board books
Holztiger cat

DS will be almost 4. He's getting (yet to be determined for sure how this will be split up between bday and Christmas; his bday is a few weeks after Christmas)
Haba skyscraper (big tower for marble track)
Haba whirlwind (big funnel for marble track)
ringing track
King of Numbers game (Haba)
Block on Block game (Haba. Has a wooden crane as part of the game)

DS's stocking:
Haba tin games
Haba letter dice
set of small minerals/gemstones and magnifying glass
art supplies
prism for his room
mints (his one request from Santa this year)
Valrhona chocolate bar (yes, he's a 3 year old chocolate snob ;) )
chenille chef ice cream cone
ornament
Foaming bath stuff from Aura Cacia
stuff I"m forgetting...

Conveniently, I think the set I got is missing the Elmo pieces. All is right with the world.

I would love to start a tradition of giving my two DD a piece for the nativity set in their stockings each year but my questions are: what is the difference between the sets I,II and III. How did you choose which one to go with? Did you get an actual manger type thing as well (from Holztiger or somewhere else??) Thanks

I started giving my dc pieces of the Holztiger nativity 2 years ago (so this would be our third Christmas). I decided on a set just by going to the website and picking which one I liked the best. The first year I bought Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, last year I bought the Three Kings, and this year I bought the large Angel, a large shepherd and a small shepherd boy. I haven't bought a manger yet, but I have been eyeing them for some time - the Holztiger and Kinderkram. They are expensive, and I think I might actually have someone local make one for me instead.

I appreciate you trying to help me! Sounds like a plan. I was wondering if it made sense to buy the whole darn expensive thing and just saving it and only giving them a piece each year. But ouch it is expensive!

My DH and I are buying our 19-month-old DD:

PBK Red Retro Kitchen (her big Santa gift)
Maclaren Junior Techno XT doll stroller
PBK "Abby" Doll

My parents are getting her:

Various wooden playfood from Haba and M&D
Red wooden pots and pans and kitchen utensils from M&D
Kitchen apron and chef's hat
PBK Anywhere chair

Other relatives buy her clothes and/or make college fund contributions.

Her stocking will include some new art supplies, bath toys, books, playsilks, a ball, and a couple of personalized items.

It seems like a short list, but we just tried to focus on a few big-ticket items this year.
