Most likely after the 25th the prices might drop even further by a couple of dollars as these are seasonal items. You can get a price adjustment making them even cheaper!

This happened to me when on Oct 30, I bought 3 Halloween placements for $5 each, fell to $2 on November 4 and got $10 back (with tax).

One caution about the PA.

More important whether they are seasonal items is the date when you purchased them.

A PBK manager told me that their PA policy is valid until 14 days after purchase. However, I've read on the board here where moms have done PAs good until 30 days. Today is the 10th, it could be good either until Christmas Eve or 1/10/08. Let's hope it's the latter.

Another tip: if something you want is OOS on line but is available at your local store, photocopy the page showing the reduced price and they will honour it. However, I don't think stores can personalize items.

Read the product description.

"Personalization is included," for the Reindeer alpine stocking or "Personalization is available for $6 more" for the Fair Isle stocking $12 + 6.

That said, the christmas gallery frame ornament for $4 says personalization is an additional $6 but when you checkout, it's free!? You get it for $4.xx shipped! Go figure.

For my halloween stuff, I called my local store, gave them the SkU and they told me the reduced price. Went in, showed my receipt and got a credit to my card.

I haven't called CS for a PA but I figure you can get your credit back over the phone if you made an on-line order. I think a couple of moms did it this way when the halloween treat bags went down a bit.

Does anyone know how Pottery Barn Sizes Run? I have actually never bought DD anything clotheswise from here, b/c I haven't really seen any of IRL. I think they run small maybe?The last size jumps from a 18-24 mo to a 36 month? DD is 20 months and maybe avg to a tiny bit above for size.

I ordered something for DD that was on sale, it is backordered and CS said it might get cancelled when I called today to ask. I called my PBK store to see if they'd honor the sale price if I brought in my "invoice" with the sale price. The manager said she couldn't match the price unless she could "physically see it on-line" i.e. if it's in-stock on line. Bummer!

Was it a seasonal item? It will most likely be marked down. If not, I don't know. Anyone else?

I can relate to you my two experiences with price-matching at a PBK store.

#1: PBK manager said that if you see the price on-line, we will match it. However, PBK.com will not match store prices.

#2: I had two items that I wanted to price-match. Both items were in stock in the store. I showed them both print-outs. They went to their system and verified it on line. I used the 68-trick, making one item less a $1 than the price shown on-line. They were confused by that. They would only honour one item out of the two, the one they were confused by (?). The item they refused to honour was two dollars less on-line than in the store. I think they refused that item because some person saw it earlier in the day and wanted to buy it, but was told it was on hold. I figure they wanted to save it for her - why else would they honour one price-match but not the other?

I stand corrected about the items being OOS. It needs to be in stock on line for stores to honour on-line prices.

No problem it was wishful thinking on my part anyway!

To be honest I think this "switching # trick" is stupid. Why do they bother with that? That's another reason why I figured the store wouldn't price match since I used the trick and the price I wanted (lower) wouldn't come up for them anyway.

The item is not seasonal but the manager said it looks like it is being discontinued. I might just pick it up full price and hope it goes on sale within 2 weeks so I can get a PA.

The manager did tell me that markdowns usually happen on Tuesdays, which is good to know ;)

Actually now that you mention it, I noticed that when I viewed my cart, some of the "specials" came up as offers (like with Williams-Sonoma).

It seems though that a lot of the 95 items are back to full price (advent stocking and others). I was thinking that "95" is this season's code for "clearance" since the stuff in the clearance 65% off or more section has a "95" prefix.

My online order for a sale item was cancelled due to being OOS online. I decided to try and take my "order confirmation" to the store and see if they would match the price. Surprisingly they did, even after telling me over the phone they couldn't. So it's worth a try if it happens to you.

The item was NOT on sale instore and the manager matched it but said it was final sale. Personally I find it foolish that the catalog and store have different prices.

The manager did say to the sales person to look it up on-line to see if the price was the same but I said it probably wasn't there b/c it was backordered for me. Anyway I was glad to get the lower price.

Just got a message my 2 orders for the personalized red ornament "frames" had been cancelled. I received 2 confirmations by email on the 11th and 12th. I just called and was told they had to send 600 emails out about cancelling the ornaments b/c they were short-shipped by the manufacturer and did not get their final batch of ornament frames. I asked how I got a confirmation if they did not have the frames, but could not understand what the lady was telling me at all. I am so bummed. I ordered 24 of them and was especially excited about giving them as personalized gifts to family and friends and had already made reprints of the photos that were going to go in them, etc.

I was going to fll them with unwrapped gifts from Santa (odd-sized gifts, little ones, have toys hanging out). You know, like Santa has. Santa usually wraps all the presents he leaves, in solid color wrapping paper, with the kids names on printed tags :) This was going to save some wrap time! And they definitely would be left out for Santa to reuse year after year.

I'll try to call my local PBK. But I guess I can give up on the free personalization! Let's hope I can find them still :)
