I think there were threads about this in the old site, but I never looked closely.

I got one for the girls on massive clearance for Christmas. Has anybody tried putting one together yet? How hard is it? Jonathan is not exactly giving Bob Vila a run for his money, if you know what I mean. ;)

I've given up trying to get the sink or washer to go with this thing, so the girls are getting the nursery set for now. I'm just trying to figure out how much time I'm going to need to budget for assembly.

TIA

I posted this in response to your Xmas list thread b/c you had mentioned the washer and sink being sold out and hard to find. The Rose Petal sink and washer are available at Walmart.com (with free ship to store option), but I think you had to order them as of last night in order to get it in time for Xmas for the ship-to-store option. But they are available at Walmart.com right now--

We bought it for DD2 for her birthday in March of next year--couldn't pass up the good deal from Target at the time. I've read that it is a bear to put together, but that the instructional video that comes with it helps a lot. In fact, reviewers had commented that it was ridiculous to put together, but that once they saw the video, it was easy.

I heard that Kmart also has accessory pieces on sale right now.

Thanks for the headsup on the assembly. Should be fun...

When I clicked on those links, both were sold out.

Carren, I've looked in Kmart, Sprawlmart, Target, JC Penney, Sears, KB Toys, TRU, BRU and NONE of them have had the stuff. And these aren't even counting the online places I've hunted...

I think I'll just probably hold out till after Christmas. The girls have enough stuff, anyway.

They must sell out fast. Walmart.com had them in stock last night and this morning when I posted, but I guess inventory comes and goes real fast. Especially with the mad holiday rush. I'm sure you will be able to get it easily after Xmas--just like the infamous Fisher Price Digital Camera situation last Xmas. Good luck!

Marisa--

The washer and sink just popped back onto Walmart.com--time is now 1:55pm, PST.

Update: Sold out again Thursday morning.

I hope you catch them in time!

Now you've got me thinking about these.... I bought the Kidkraft Love & Care set (stroller/wooden highchair/wooden crib), so I figured that would be enough with the stove that comes with it.

Hmmm, yes, for $90 a piece by some people looking to make money off desperate parents (they retail for $29.99). I think the girls can wait till they're back in stores. :)

Ok.... we have the cottage. DH had no trouble putting together and DD1 helped. I read the reviews on how hard it is to put together... but that did not ring true for us.

The accessories are super TINY. The stove? So little. I didn't get any of the other accessories, but after seeing the stove I was appalled at what they were charging for the washer/dryer and cradle.

Overall, the cottage is cute... basically like a tent with 2 parts.

I forgot to say that we did get the muffin tin/apron/mitt/muffins. That is cute and I love that the muffins are fabric. I got it for $8.99 from Amazon.

I was getting my niece the inch-along ride-on that's 12.99 now on Amazon and it had a bunch of free hasbro toys to pick out from. I saw the rose petal cottage apron/muffin set was one of them, so I picked it up. Not bad, a free $8.99 set with a $12.99 purchase. I'll give it to my friend's 2 year old as part of her birthday present.
