I've been looking around at the blocks and noticed that some blocks are called unit blocks while some are not. Is there a difference between these blocks?
TIA.

The standard unit blocks are all proportional to the same size unit. Makes building things easier and introduces the concept of fractions.
There is a great price for Melissa and Doug Unit Blocks on Amazon linked to the Bargains forum right now.

That's a great link. I've always wondered what exactly made a block a unit block myself ...

That's really cool info. I always wondered, too, where the name comes from. I ordered the M&D ones from amazon.com. They're called "unit blocks", so I hope they are truly unit blocks.
