Mattress toppers

I want to get a mattress topper for our bed. Which type is better - memory foam or a down/down alternative type? Any particular brand that you recommend? Thanks!

I have the Choices Mattress Topper from Costco on both my bed and DD's bed. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11149007&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US&s=1 It is very comfy and I would definitely recommend it. I like that is has the microfiber fill pad on top of the memory foam. Doubley delightful! :)

Oh good! I almost bought that one at Costco but I didn't know anything about it at the time.

I bought the Serta 3 inch memory foam with 4 lbs density as a gift for my dad's birthday (with a separate cover) from www.overstock.com. My uncle tried it and requested one as well. Then, my grandmom wanted it. I eventually tried it myself and immediately ordered one for our brand new (but too hard) bed. It's been phenomenal and I LOVE crawling into my bed these days.
