Has anyone's DC outgrown the SafeSeat before 12 months? DD just had her 6 month checkup. She is 28 inches and 19 lbs. It looks as though she actually has 3-4 inches before her head is within 1 inch of the top of the seat shell. However, she is consistently at 90% for height and 95% for weight. At this point I'm hoping to get to at least 12 months before I have to move her to a marathon.

I think someone here had a child that outgrew it at 11 months, but it really does seem to get 95% of kids to 12 months. You may be part of that 5% that doesn't make it.

OTOH, my DS2 was 80-95% height and weight from about 2 months to 9 months and then was down to a more reasonable (for our genes) 50-60% by 12 months and has held steady since. He still fit in the SS1 at 21 months. DS3 seems to have the same growth pattern going on - huge all around right now (85-95%).

I hope DD slows down. She is just so heavy to hold and is already in 18 month clothes because she is so thick. I really wanted to get to the point that she was walking before I had to switch seats. DS was just not like this at all. At 3 he is 27.5 lbs and 37 inches.

I know it's not what you asked for, but DD is nearly 2 (23 months) and still easily fits. :D

Please tell me that you're not still hefting it around! :)

Oh no, we don't own one (she rides in a Marathon, in the lowest slots, and a Radian in the 2nd lowest slots). I like to try her out in it whenever we go to BRU, just for laughs. Interestingly enough, she did fit into her 22lb SnugRide until 15-16 months (I tried her in it at 18 months and she just barely didn't fit by height, as she was about 3 quarters of an inch from the top). She'll be rear-facing forever :D

You're so lucky...Leah's AT the second to top slots on the Radian...seriously! She's been FF in her RA once or twice and has to use the top slots. (she doesn't look big to me, but wow! :47: ) (her b'day's 1-27-06)
