FP Safe Voyage booster- do the 2 pieces stay together when removed from the car?

I know my title is confusing. We have the Graco Turbo Booster and I HATE that the back part comes apart so easily from the seat part. I know its supposed to do that when transformed into a backless booster but it does it anytime you remove it from the car, even when I am trying to keep the 2 pieces together. Make sense?
So, I am wondering if the FP Safe Voyage does the same thing before I buy it.
