my sweet honey got me a shuffle for christmas (it is the cutest thing ever! so tiny!) and even asked if i would rather have the more expensive one so i could have more songs. um. no. i can't even think of TEN songs for it!

help!!!

i want workout music! what would you/have you bought for your iPod or what songs to you listen to when you exercise??

i am 32, like 80's goofy stuff, like classic rock (nothing "angry"), like alternative stuff like dave matthews, nothing grungy, no rap, hard rock, country... like some stuff on the radio today but i have NO idea what it is... i just listen to it on the radio! i want warm up and cool down mellow music and then super fun go that extra mile songs...

so far i have:
100 years
waiting on the world to change
come on eileen
brown eyed girl
every little thing she does is magic
jack and diane

???? help me!!!!

I love Journey and have loads of it on my IPOD. Here are some of my other favorites right now:

10,000 maniacs
Soundtrack to Mamma Mia or anything Abba
Michelle Branch with Santana
Tracy Chapman , Fast Car
Barenaked Ladies, any and all of their songs
Footloose, Kenny Loggins
Love is a Battlefield, Pat Benatar
Dancing with Myself, Billy Idol
INXS
No Doubt
Live
Good Vibrations, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch (should I be embarrassed that I just wrote that?)
Counting Crows

I could name so many more, but I'll stop there! Have fun with your new toy.

Ok, there was a great thread with a similar topic a while ago-someting about picking one song...at least I think so. I'm not crazy, right? There *was* this thread, right? I couldn't find it at all in a search.

Oh well, here's the totally random stuff I've been listening to lately:
Kelly Clarkson
Pogues (somewhat angry, tho) ;)
John Mayer
Feist
The Fratellis
The Ramones
KT Tunstall
Gwen Stefani

Good luck!

Oooh - I got a shuffle too! It is so cute and tiny! I haven't even taken it out of the box yet but hopefully will get to play with it this weekend.

Here is a recent thread about the same topic, hopefully the one Beth (bethandcian) was referring to:

Hey, have you heard the newish Robert Plant/Alison Krauss "Raising Sand"? Really good. Sometimes eerily good.

Wow, I am impressed by the previous list!

Missing... Madonna. I have the Immaculate Collection loaded. Olivia Newton John and or Grease Soundtrack always make me smile. For a cool down I use Enya.

Other ideas (some of which I need to add):
Bizarre Love Triangle (Depeche Mode?)
Depeche Mode
I will Survive
'at the Carwash'

Excellent! I'm always looking for new songs to add to my workout music. I just filled up my new Shuffle with random stuff from my Itunes library, but some of it needs to go, just too slow!

I may have missed it, but since you like 80s music, what about Oingo Boingo, New Order, The Cure, The Smiths, etc...?
