Hi!

I know I want to purchase the SafeGuard Go Booster Seat for my 2 yr old son who is 32 lbs and 36" tall. My 6 month old is about to be too big for her infant seat, so I would like to move her to her brother's current carseat and purchase him the SafeGuard Go Booster. My question is, would you purchase the current 2007 model since his height and weight are fine for those specs on that seat, or should I wait for the 2008 model. I will need to get my 6 month old out of her infant seat in a month or two, so I need to make a decision soon. I notice that stores on ebay are trying to get rid of some of their new 2007 models and selling them for GREAT prices. Does anyone know if there is some big change in the actual seat itself that makes the 2008 lots better? I looked on the company site and only see a different in the harness specs but don't see any difference in the seat itself. If I don't have to, I would rather not spend another $70 just to get the newer 2008 model if I don't have to since I will start using the seat in the next month or two (ie. I'm not buying this that far in advance as to when I will need it.)

Thanks for any info...
Jody

I wrote the company and asked what the differences were in the 2007 and 2008 models. They promptly answered and thought I would post it out here so others who are interested would know...I think I will purchase the newer version even though it will cost me more since the changes sound like they definitely improve the seat in more ways than one...

Here is the reply I got from the company themselves:

Thank you for your interest in SafeGuard!

SafeGuard made some enhancement features to the Go Booster Seat for
2008 compared to the original version of the Go Seat. This was due to
recent feedback from parents and children using the Go Booster Seat. I
have described the features/enhancements that SafeGuard has made to the
Go Booster for 2008. There are only 4 differences between the
original 2007 version and the New Design--- Weight range, Buckle Adjustment,
Headrest, and a Recline option. Here are the details below:

1) The weight span is wider for 2008 starting children out from over 1
year of age and 22 pounds using the Five Point Harness and going up to
60 pounds and 52" tall for that max weight and shoulder height for the
harness. (Booster Mode goes on up to 100 pounds).

2) SafeGuard has added a couple of more adjustment slots for the
buckle strap. This is the strap that goes between the child's legs. Adding
more adjustment slot levels allows parents to further adjust the
harness for more of a "snug" , yet comfortable fit for the Five Point
Harness.

3) The Headrest was redesigned for 2008 making the pillow and the
comfort foam pads one solid piece, instead of just a pillow attachment like
the original model.

4) SafeGuard also performed further crash testing studies for the 2008
model of the Go Seat. By doing so, they were able to confirm and
allow a "Recline" option. DO NOT recline your vehicle seat beyond 30
degrees from vertical. DO NOT recline seat when using the child restraint
in the Booster Mode. This recline option is for the Harness mode.

Whatever type of child seat that you decide to purchase, you want one
that is going fit your child, easy to install, and fits y our vehicle.
