I've read about the concerns about some plastics and baby bottles/sippy cups. You describe these issues on your site: http://baby411.typepad.com/babybargains/2007/08/consumer-alert-.html.

My concern is about baby food. I noticed tonight while feeding my daughter Gerber Stage 1 food, that the plastic container is made from #7 plastic which is the plastic type that contains BPA. I've seen articles elsewhere that show similar concern for the plastic bottles containing formula.

Wouldn't your concerns about the bottles/sippy cups extend to these food containers?

I am considering changing to a brand that uses glass containers.

The #7 on plastics officially stands for "other" so many different types are lumped in to this category. The bad plastic that contains BPA is hard and clear. The Gerber baby food containers are made of a plastic that does not contain the BPA- one clue is the plastic is bendy and not totally clear. Hope this helps!
