Hello all~

My brother has a Child Craft crib that he wants to pass on to us (our baby is due in May). The crib is six years old and one of his daughters just finished using it a few months ago. There is paint peeling/chipping off on the inside railings. Do you think it would be okay to just re-paint the railings? Is this something I should avoid all together? My husband and I are trying to conserve in every way we can so we thought getting this crib would help us out a lot but I am having second thoughts. Does anyone have any in-sight?
Thanks for your time
Suzanica

Suzanica: Thanks for reading our book, BABY BARGAINS!

Well, good question. Not being an expert at do-it-yourself projects, I don't know the feasilbility of repainting a crib. I'd guess you need to sand down the entire crib and then apply several coats of paint.

Has anyone else out there done that?

I've not actually painted a crib; however, I'm pretty sure that Walmart sells paint that is safe to use on children's furniture. I think it is the Sesame Street Line.
