Babies R Us has a line of cribs now by "Doral Asia". They seem very similar to the childcraft line, but the salesman didn;t have much information. Does anyone know anything about these?

Dorel is NOTHING like Childcraft. Childcraft makes their cribs out of northern hardrock maple or ash, and they just started making one out of pine also. Dorel is made of ramaen wood, which is much softer. Also, Childcraft is certified by the Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association (JPMA), where Dorel cribs are not. JPMA is an independant company that will come and randomly test cribs and other products. They will do things like take a 50lb ball and bounce it against the springs to ensure that it can take the wear and tear of toddlers, they have a machine that will raise and lower the dropside lord knows how many times to simulate however many years of use, etc.... Although other cribs meet the minimum government standards, JPMA certified cribs meet and EXCEED those standards. It is a very expensive testing, that's why brands like Childcraft, Simmons, Babi Italia, and Basset are more expensive than the brands like Dorel, Kindercraft, etc. If you still have questions, I would go back to babies r us and ask for the furniture zone specialist. They are the ones that run the department, and they should know all this information and more. I hoped this helped!
