Advice on Cradles

I am considering purchasing a cradle because I live in an apartment and was hoping that by the time the baby is outgrows the cradle, I will be living in a house and will have move room for the crib. I am considering a cradle rather than a bassinet because I was told that babies can sleep in a cradle for 4-5 months, while babies will outgrow a bassinet earlier. Is this accurate? Also, can anyone give me advice on the brand of cradle I should purchase? Are there any features I should look for?

I put my dd to sleep in her stroller for the first few months. No extra expense, and it could easily be rolled into any room as I moved about.
