Is this company still around? Have they been acquired by someone else? A friend has offered to sell me her 6 year old furniture made by this company (purchased at JC Penney) and I want to make sure it's OK, but I can't find anything about the company.

According to the Baby Bargains Book, OklaHomer Smith was plagued with many recalls and has since been acquired by Cosco. I would definitely check with CPSC website to see if the furniture you have has been part of a previous recall. I'm sure the Fields' would advise you to skip this "bargain" and buy new baby furniture from somerone reputable like Child Craft. Good luck!
