Hi. We are thinking of purchasing the Pali "April" crib -- well, actually two of them for our twins. We noticed on the side post where the rail down there is a groove (even though the hardware is otherwise hidden). We are wondering if this groove could pose a safety hazard for getting their fingers stuck. We think not because we would not be leaving the crib rail down with a baby in there but thought we would check. The more expensive Pali cribs do not have this groove. The Bonavita Lisa does, however. The only ones we have seen below $300 which do not are the Sorelle's and we have heard bad things about their customer service (missing parts, etc.) from both stores where we are shopping. I am inclined to just buy the April and be cognizant of the groove -- any thoughts?

Gianna,

Thanks for using our message boards! And congratulations on your twins!

We have not heard of any safety problems with the groove you mentioned. That type of crib release has been available for years and we've never heard a report of a child getting his fingers stuck. We think the April is a great crib.

Hope that helps,
