Do Mattresses generally fit all cribs?

I'm looking at buying the Child's Delight Crib Mattress (comparable to Classica 1 by Colgate) at BabyCenter.com and using it in a Simmons Venetian Crib.

Is it safe to assume the they will fit well together? I saw some posts about the foam mattress and the fact that some sheets are too big for this foam mattress and now wonder if this Colgate model is a little smaller than others. Or does that only have to do with the thickness?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought that exact mattress from babycenter, and it fits my Simmons crib perfectly, although I should add that I do not have the Venetian model.
