Hi everyone? I'd like to buy Colgate Classica I mattress at BabyCatalog.com with $79.99 plus $18.00 Flat Shipping Fee:

http://www.babycatalog.com/cgi-bin/WebStore/indexNZ.cgi/mi=yes/srchcd=HC515232

So I want to know if any of you have good/bad experiences with BabyCatalog.com.

I found with same price at http://www.kidsurplus.com/mattress1.html, but they have temporarily sold out.

Also, $99+8.8% tax in my local store and they didn't match internet price. Does anyone know of any stores in the Washington (Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue and so on) area that sell this mattress with good deal?

Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Catherine

I ordered my Colgate Classica I from BabyCatalog.com last year. It came in less than a week, FedEx or FedEx Ground. No problems.

We purchased our Classica 1 mattress from Great Beginnings. We bought it at their store about 6 months ago and we think it's a great mattress (it what they recommended too). For those looking for a mattress now, I noticed they have it as an online special for less than they sell it at the store. They are selling it for $79.99. I just got one for my sister since she's due in December with the first girl in our family!

If you're looking for the best deal, you may want to consider this mattress at babycenter: http://store.babycenter.com/product/nursery/furniture/mattresses_and_pads/6293

This specific model is made by Colgate exclusively for Babycenter but is supposedly the same as the Classica 1. I bought this mattress and have been happy with it. It comes out cheaper than the places you mentioned because right now it's on sale for $79.99, then Babycenter has a coupon now for free shipping for orders of $80 or more (coupon code: 16865075). Then, you can get a $5.60 rebate back (7%) from ebates if you click on the babycenter website from ebates. (If you haven't already signed up with ebates, I'd really appreciate your using this link if you decide to do so: http://www.ebates.com/affiliate_landing.jsp?promotion_code=REF1&eeid=13840&banner=9710&[email protected]&refpageid=1)

I realize this isn't a huge savings over the other sites you mentioned, but I just wanted to let you know about this alternative in case you're like me and like to save every buck that you can! If you're interested in the quality of the mattress from Babycenter, you can do a search on these boards to read more about it.

We ordered the Classica I from babycatalog.com and it arrived quickly and well-packaged. No problems at all!

Is there any other coupon? Since the mattress is only $79.99 the coupon you posted doesn't apply. Also, Babycenter charges a $15 surcharge on the mattress b/c its large. Kind of negates the savings.

The one we received from Great Beginnings cost $79.99 also but they only charged me $12 shipping. http://www.childrensfurniture.com/
I guess some of the other sites are making money on overcharging us for shipping.

As far as the free shipping coupon requiring an $80 purchase, if it were me, I would just buy something small that I need (like bottle nipples or breast pads) to make the purchase go over the $80 min.

I apologize, though, for not paying attention to the fact that there's the $15 oversize charge--you're right in that it does negate some of the savings. I forgot that I had to pay that when I bought mine. The mattress was on sale for a cheaper price, then, so I think it cost me around $77 total when I got it.

Wow. How long ago was the sale? I wonder if they will do it again? I know that Babycenter has periodic sales but up until now I didn't pay much attention b/c it didn't really apply to me (I'm expecting my first in Nov).

I bought the mattress back in April of this year. Yes, I've found that it does pay to keep checking for the Babycenter sales--that's the way that I've bought all of my things on sale for at least 10% off (usually more) their regular price. Then, add additional coupons that they run and ebates and it's a bargain! I've been VERY happy with my purchases from babycenter and their customer service. Also, one time I took them up on their policy to do a price adjustment because a car seat I bought went on sale for a better price the next week, so they refunded the difference. So, I found that even pays to keep checking the price for the time period they allow--I think it's 2 weeks for the price adjustment--once you purchase an item from them.
