I'm thinking about buying this toy chest and was wondering if any of you have it and, if so, how you like it: http://www.babystyle.com/common/dProductDetail.asp?SIND=1&PMId=6294&cmCL=srch-chest

Also, if you don't have it but have another toy chest for a similar or lower price, I'd appreciate all suggestions for other toy chests to consider. TIA for any input!

Hi!
I looked into this toybox myself a while ago. If I recall, I ultimately decided against it because I found something with a similar, no-pinch design at Target or Walmart. (I ultimately bought one painted by a local artist).
If this is definitely the one for you, do a web search for raised panel toy chest, and you'll find a lot. Also, you could search for Childesigns, the manufacturer. I do believe an old post here once led me to the manufacturer's website , where they occasionally sold a few slightly damaged models for cheaper. Here's a few bargains I found from a quick search.
Baby Universe $68 +s/h

Baby Outlet $80 w/ free s/h

I also know when I was searching I found it (or one very similar) for MUCH cheaper from an ebay seller, who sold things like rocking horses and changing tables and these chests. I didn't see it in my quick search, but perhaps if you did a more thorough one.
My quick one did find your chest in 2 auctions - one w/ BIN for probably more than one of the other deals when you factor in shipping, and another at only $6 now.

You rock! :) I had done a quick online search trying to find this chest somewhere else but wasn't successful because I didn't think to include "raised panel" nor did I know the manufacturer's name. I also never thought to check on ebay. Thank you SO much for your help!!

I was considering the Babystyle one because I have a $10 off coupon with them and free shipping (although the $10 surchage would still apply). I was also going to save around $4 with ebates so it be around $74 with s/h. Now I'm thinking that I could probably get a better deal on ebay and that I should also check out the local Target or Walmart. I really want a toy chest in a pecan/honey color to blend in with the other furniture, so this Childesigns one isn't really the perfect one for me anyways(although I do like the raised panels).

I'm curious about the chest that you got painted from a local artist. How did you come across that person? Was it very expensive? I was considering using a stencil or something to paint an image of a sailboat and other nautical things on the raised panels but it'd be much easier to get someone else to paint something for me.

Thanks again for your help!!

P.S. I will probably post the Babystyle coupon in the Bargains board later if I decide for sure that I won't be using it so if anyone's interested, you can check there. (It requires a $75 or more purchase.)

We have this chest and I'm not sure what to say about it. When we first received it, one of the pieces wasn't quite right but they sent us a whole new chest right away free of charge. Then, this spring, the pinch free thing quit working. The lid does not stay up like it should. I don't know if this is just my chest and I'm sure they'll send me a replacement part, I just haven't called them yet for it.

I will say that I love the look of it, it's the perfect size for dd's room and I would probably order it again (as long as the lid will be fixed).

I'm glad I could help.
I got my chest at a charity auction. I just loved it, so I bid on it. It was rather expensive, but all the things at these sorts of auctions tend to be, so at least I got something I really like.
