View Full Version : How to anchor dresser to the wall?

How exactly do you anchor a 3 drawer dresser to the wall - so that it is not a tipping hazard if my son climbs on it? I know we are supposed to do this - but have no idea how it works?

You can buy anchors from any home store (home depot, lowe's, probably Walmart, etc). It just attaches to both the wall (with screws I assume) and dresser/bookcase to keep it anchored so it can't tip over.

You can find these things pretty much anywhere, I would also recommend buying a good stud finder as unless you secure the strap to a stud in the wall you are not keeping your child safe.

We're not very mechanically inclined here so we purchased an anchoring kit from One Step Ahead and it works very well.
