I have a couple things I'm looking for and I'm hoping you all can help. I've been on complete bedrest since 14 weeks and I'm now at 26. Baby will probably come around 35-36, so I need to get going on nursery readiness.

I'm looking for those baskets that have removable liners, like the ones at Pottery Barn, but hopefully cheaper. I've also seen them at JCPenny I think. Anyone found then online for a great price??

I'm also looking for a rectangle 5 x 8 solid color rug in sage green. I've heard that chenille rugs pill a lot, so I'm trying to avoid those. I could even do a piece of bound carpet if someone knows of website that does that.

I think we're going to put baby in a pack n play initially, then I can go out of the house (yay!) once she's here and order a crib. Anyone kept a baby in a pnp for 12 weeks or so? What supplies will I need for the pnp?

Thanks so much for your help!!

Jessica

If I could only shop via the internet, I would frequent affordable places like www.target.com www.walmart.com www.babiesrus.com www.kidsurplus.com www.jcpenney.com
If I was looking for clothing, I'd use Land's End, Old Navy, Gap, etc. You can also shop at a site called www.babystyle.com, which I never used personally, but I know lot of people do.

Target online has baskets with liners. Whether they will fit the size space you need, I don't know. Since they have various ones, you should just go to www.target.com and do a search for basket or baskets.

Can't help with the rug specifically, but I'd check Target's website for that too.

We used a PNP for napping and still use it for travel. We had a crib and did not use the PNP for sleeping all the time, but I don't see why you couldn't. Our son napped in there all day off and on, and when we travel for a week a a time, he sleeps strictly in there, so I should think that would be fine for the first couple of months. For our PNP we purchased a thing called a Diaper Depot (I think) from BRU to put diapers, wipes and supplies on since we kept the PNP downstairs for napping and this was also our downstairs changing area. If you have a changing table or area, you will not need this.

You may want to consider sheets for your PNP. I just used the Graco one, which was not very soft, but wasn't a really big deal for us since DS only napped in it and usually on a sheet saver anyway. Many people swear by the Kushies sheets for the PNP from www.kidsurplus.com . We did not use a cover on the changing table portion of the PNP, so I wouldn't worry about that.

HTH! Good luck on a safe rest of your pregnancy.

Previous post has same suggestions I had, but I just wanted to say, congrats on making it this far into the pregnancy and best of luck with the remainder of bedrest.

Jessica,

I agree with the other suggestions about places to order stuff online. I have ordered from www.babystyle.com before, but it was just a diaper bag. I have not ordered any big ticket items like a crib, glider, changing table, etc. I had to return the diaper bag I ordered from them and they were very accomodating. I even had a couple of questions and they responded within 24 hours. For crib sheets, I suggest Lands' End. The knit sheets are awesome and the customer service can't be beat. I know you didn't ask about strollers, but I had a great experience with www.barebabies.com when I ordered my PP Venezia.

I didn't have the PNP until my DS was about 3-4 months old, so I didn't use it with the changing area that comes with it. Definitely, you will need sheets for the PNP. My mom just got one of the regular sheets that BRU sells. I have heard good things about the PNP sheets by Kushies that were mentioned by the previous poster.

For the rug, could you call around to some of your local carpet stores to see if they have a remnant in sage green that they could bind for you? Maybe your DH or another family member or friend could go by and pick up a sample to make sure that it is the right shade before they bind it for you. If I come across any websites that sell rugs, I'll post back.

Good luck to you!

Take care!

Here are some baskets I had considered. Though I never ordered them, the store said I could have them shipped, you just have to order by phone.

I'm not certain about the rug, though here are some leads

Here's the rug I went with - we combined a few to make it bigger, and because of the shaggy edges, it looks seamless. I never would have ordered it based on the picture online, though. I saw it in a local boutique and it looked adorable.

Jessica, I just wanted to wish you (and that precious cargo) well!

Jessica,

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be on bedrest for such a long time, especially when you're wanting to get prepared for your precious baby. My best wishes are with you!

You've already gotten some great advice, so I'll just add a little more...

First, the PNP bassinet should work fine for the first 12 weeks as long as your baby isn't over 15 lbs by then (the weight limit for the bassinet) and it's a full-sized bassinet. (I'm not sure how a 3/4-length bassinet would work for 3 months.) I highly recommend the Kushies flannel PNP sheet, which I bought from kidsurplus. I also recommend a waterproof pad to put under the sheet. I got this one and it has worked well, although it would be nicer if it had elastics around the edges: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000056J9F/qid=1071726040/sr=1-11/ref=sr_1_11/102-2696597-1177714?v=glance&s=baby It does fit the size of my Graco PNP "mattress" well, though.

When my baby was born, we were living in a small rural town so I did almost all of my shopping online. My favorite sites were babiesrus, babycenter, babyage, babygap, oldnavy, target, and jcpenney. My biggest tip for saving LOTS of money when shopping online is signing up with ebates. It's free (they even pay you $1 when signing up) and takes less than a minute. Then, you can get cash rebates back on your online purchases simply by clicking on that store's link from the ebates website. With the exception of BRU, all of the stores I mentioned are affiliated with ebates, so for example, I would get 7% back on all my purchases from babycenter, 4% from target, etc. If you haven't already signed up with ebates, I'd really appreciate your using this link if you do so: http://www.ebates.com/affiliate_landing.jsp?promotion_code=REF1&eeid=13840&banner=9710&[email protected]&refpageid=1

My other online shopping tip is to find and use coupon codes! The good thing with ebates is that you get the rebate but can still use any coupon codes on the store's website. Whereas some sites like babycenter will list their coupons on their website, most stores' coupons are not mentioned on their site but can be found online. Thus, I always do a quick search to see what coupon codes exist for an online store before making a purchase. That also has saved me lots of money! Here are some of the coupon sites that I check:

http://jumpondeals.com/
http://www.currentcodes.com/
http://www.couponparadise.com/
http://www.dealhunting.com/

Hope this helps... Good luck with your online shopping! :)

I agree with target on the baskets I know I've seen them on-line. Another suggestion on the rugs is Kohls they have a pretty good selection:

I registered for willow baskets at BRU. They are by Kids Line. I think a set of 3 is only 19.99 and they are all the same size. They aren't my favorite style of basket overall, but they aren't bad looking. They have sage liners available, but the catch is, the liners can't be purchased online from what I can tell. I had to actually go into the store to register for those (like you have to w/ clothing and a lot of the "small" items from BRU if you register there). But maybe someone could pick the liners up for you if you got the baskets online.

We're doing a sage and very very pale/creamy yellow as our main nursery colors so I'm all about the sage too:)

Hang in there on bedrest. I know it must be so difficult, but you are doing a great thing helping your babies stay in as long as possible. I wish you all the best of luck and good health.

I got some cute white wicker baskets at BRU, and bought separately pink and white, and green and white, gingham liners also from BRU. I just checked their website, and they call the baskets "3 Pack Basket-White" for $19.99. I think the liners were about $5 each, but I'm not sure if they're available online.

The last JCP baby catalog I saw had sage green rugs. I just checked their site also, and you can find a couple if you go to their site and click childrens--furniture--rugs-lamps.

Good luck!

I know that Babycenter also has those baskets.
