Using play yard as a daytime crib

Has anyone used the play yard portion of the Pack 'N Play as a daytime crib after the baby outgrows the bassinet? I was just wondering if it was okay for the baby (i.e. not bad for the bones, back, etc.) and if anyone had any suggestions for this. I don't have a Pack 'N Play yet so I don't even know if the play yard portion is suitable for sleeping.

The playyard uses the same mattress/pad. It is just lower since it doesn't use the bassinet insert. We used for napping as well as for sleeping when travelling.

Logan sleeps in the pack n play every night. We have it set up in our room.

No experience yet, but I'm planning to keep our play yard set up in the family room and use it for daytime naps for as long as possible.

I have friends that still use theirs for daytime napping and traveling for older children.
