HELP NEEDED ASAP. I am trying to lower my Pali Crib Mattress and have scratched it all up (m)

My husband and I have been trying to lower the matress on my Pali Dauphine but the spring seems too big. We have the right side lined up but the left is still too high and we can't get it lower to line it up. Meanwhile, we have totally scratched the whole underside. I am BESIDE MYSELF. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
