Does anyone own any Jessica McClintock furniture? Their dressers are gorgeous and if I find out I'm having a girl I'd really want this dresser: http://www.kidshabitat.com/suites/suites-imgs/jessica6-lg.jpg
At $735 it's comparibly priced to most double dressers at the baby store, but I LOVE the style.

Is there anything wrong with buying a dresser that's not specifically designed for babies? Could I still put a changing pad on this? Does baby furniture have extra safety features that regular furniture doesn't have? I don't know what all these things mean, but here's the details I found on it:

Drawer Construction:
All Wood Construction
Dovetail. English back
Drawer Stops
Dust Proofing
Garment Guard

10-Drawer Dresser (58"W 19"D 33"H) $735

Thank you in advance,

that is a beautiful dresser ... I see nothing wrong with buying what you want but i would suggest you buy a changing table if that is not made for a changing pad .... If you buy a cheapie changing table you could always just do away with it later on because it is a short lived baby item ... My DD is almost 8 months and we are about to put a end to ours with all her turning twisting and trying to crawl off ...

What i did with my DS when he got to this stage was still use the pad but I stored it under the dresser and woudl change him on the floor and pull it out when i needed it ... It is about time to start doing that again ...
