Mattress for Child Craft 10171 Crib?

Hello All,

I'm a first time mom-to-be and new to the forum. I have a question about the Child Craft crib that's on page 83 of the current version of the book. The dimensions of the crib are 53 3/4 x 30 1/2. I've been told that the mattress that I select must fit snug around all sides. The problem is that every good mattress I've seen is either 52x27 or 52x28. What size/brand mattress can I use for this crib?!?? I'm living overseas right now and can't just go to a store to do the "2 fingers" check. I'm new to all this baby stuff so if anyone can offer some suggestions, I'd be so grateful!

The diminsions of the perimeter of the crib would be greater than the inside, where the matress goes. I believe that the crib you listed accepts standard matresses so you should not have a problem.
