View Full Version : Do Co-Sleeper Sheets Shrink?

I just got a new mini co-sleeper and see that the package directions on the sheets say to use "lukewarm" water to wash. I expect that I will wash the sheets on hot (partly to remove the flame-resistant chemicals), but am afraid that the sheets will shrink.
Have you washed your co-sleeper sheets in hot water? Did they shrink?
Thanks!

Yes they do! Washed mine with my regular wash (I start out with a little hot water to dissolve detergent, then fill the rest of the way w/ cold, then add clothes) and it shrank. Ihad meant to wash it in cold H2O only, and line dry but forgot. Now I use portacrib sheets from BuyBuyBaby. For my money, why make a sheet that requires such special treatment? There is enough to worry about with a newborn. I think I'm going to write Arm's Reach and tell them. :0)

I washed mine in warm and put in the dryer on low (too much of a pain to air dry). I never had any problem with shrinkage, although I found the velcro annoying as it stuck to all of the other clothes in the wash.
