Can you suggest a good quality, affordable crib? Also, looking for reputable website that carries cribs.
My question may be too vague at this point, but my baby came early and I am now without a crib... so I need some help. My main focus is safety, durability and warrantee. My budget is up to $500.
I have been searching for a while (doing research) for a crib. I was hoping to buy a Childcraft, but realize the flood at their warehouse prevents that from happening. I then tried to purchase the Simmons, Miranda, covertable and found one for $469, however, they are out of stock at local stores and do not know if one can be ordered for at least 15 days. I also liked what I read about Domisundo, but I can not find a store that carries that brand (online or locally).
These are the things I am looking for.
Mattress Support: underneath - springs
Ease of Release (railing) - like stationary better than knee push
Hardware - hidden (not mandatory)
Height/adjust - bolts
Casters - metal/wide
Wood - maple, oak, ash, cherry
JPMA seal
Warranty - at least a year
Shipping - within 4 weeks (if possible)
Extras - drawer underneath

Hi,
I don't have a real specific answer for you, but wanted to share that last December, my DH & I found our beautiful cherry Pali crib on sale for only $300. That was a great price for a Pali. Turns out that the store (Lullaby Lane in San Bruno, CA) had their 2003 Pali models on sale in order to make room for the new 2004 models.
So... if you try shopping closer to the end of the year, you might have the same experience. Maybe stores will discount their 2004s to make room for the 2005s.
Good luck w/your crib shopping!

I believe, but am not positive that Domisundo is sold exclusively at J.C. Penny. Since I don't have my book on hand, I can't confirm that, but check in the Baby Bargains book under J.C. Penny and it should clear up the matter. In the J.C. Penny catalogue it will not say Domisundo, but rather "made in Indonesia", which means it's manufactured by Domisundo.
Of course that information is only good if my memory is correct, and as I'm 4 months pregnant, my memory isn't something you'll want to place a bet on, so I'd check the book just to be sure.
Happy Hunting!

Based on the information I got from this message board, I purchased the Sorelle Lana crib from Albeebaby (http://store.yahoo.com/albee-baby/solacr.html). They have free shipping. I called to check and see if the stain I wanted was in stock and they told me yes and that it would be shipped out in 2-3 days. Well I ordered in on the 10th of November but it has not shipped yet. Since I'm not pressed for time it is no big deal. Other than the ship time the price and service have been great.
Good luck.

I also have a Sorelle Lana crib, also bought at Albee baby. It arrived in about 4-5 days as well, in excellent condition, and for a price of $220, I believe, no tax and no shipping fee. The crib is very sturdy--my extremely choosy husband would not have gotten it had we not seen it and he was convinced that it was well made. However, I don't know anything about its longevity as our daughter is 7wks old and still sleeps with us.

Did your Lana come with solid wood plank mattress support, or springs? I called Albeebaby yesterday, and they said they are only able to ship Lanas with the solid wood.
I am considering a Lana... and thought about ordering from Albeebaby. I am glad to hear you had a good experience!
I am just trying to decide about the wood vs. springs..

Ours came with springs. I didn't know this was something one chose, we simply ordered the crib.
