This baby is due in just a few weeks. I don't want to use a bassinet in our room this time. Instead, I want to keep baby in her crib from day one. (Her big sister was and is such a bad sleeper that I want to get this one used to the crib right away.) But the crib is so big for a newborn, and I want to try something to make her feel more cozy. I was thinking of using a Snuggle Nest in the crib. Any experience with this?

We used the Snuggle Nest everywhere and loved it! It worked well in the crib too.

My only advice is to buy LOTS of extra sheets for it! Especially with a newborn's tendency to leak out (or spit up), you'll be changing those little sheets often. :) We'd improvise by wrapping a receiving blanket around the mattress and placing a lap pad between the two layers.

If you don't plan to use it elsewhere, I wouldn't spend the money. We sold our Snuggle Nest after realizing that it took up too much room in our bed. Plus, DD didn't like sleeping in our bed as a newborrn. Plus, we had the older version of the Snuggle Nest. The new one has some sort of sleep positioner pillows. The older one wasn't very cozy; in fact, there seemed to be too much room (width-wise) for a newborn.

Our solution:
We had a crib bumper with ties. I tied it so that it effectively split the crib in half. Then we used a Dex 3-in-1 sleep positioner to have her feel cozy in the crib. We also swaddled her FOREVER. Cozy little bear.

We used it in the cradle and crib... My first slept with us and I really did not want #2 to do so... this made the cradle and crib more cozy.

My ds hated the Snuggle Nest from day one - would not have anything to do with it. I started him in a basinette, but in his room, not ours.

We received our snuggle nest as a gift and our baby loved it. We used it in his crib, in his pack n play bassinet, and on the chaise part of our sofa. I think our baby being able to feel the sides of the wall of the snuggle nest. Helped make sleeping go a little better in the beginning.
