i had a sony 27 channel 900 mhz monitor and it was a piece of junk. it picked up neighbors phone calls and other babies in the neighborhood, beeped "out of range" if i turned my head or leaned forward, and every few days it would make a horrible buzzing sound every 30 seconds. i have a video monitor but i cant carry the video part around the house with me while my daughter naps, so i need a new monitor.

my requirements:
*rechargeable batteries
*portable receiver so i can carry it from room to room or outside
*operates in a wide range of space

any suggestions?

I got the Fisher Price long range monitor- with two receivers. So far, so good.

It has long range capacity.
The second receiver has a belt clip and also a vibrate feature - good if your outside and the neighbor is mowing the lawn.
Sorry, no rechargable batteries. However, both receivers have power cords so you can leave them plugged in inside, and only draw from the battery when you are actually wearing it.

What video monitor are you using? I am in the market for one.
