Hi. We are trying to find an inexpensive crib/toddler bed convertible since Baby #2 will be here any day and DD is not showing signs of being ready for big girl bed. Taht way we can put baby in the more expensive crib we already have.

We have some gift certificates we can use at Kmart, Sears or Target so I am starting with these retailers.

Does anyone know who manufacturers the following cribs??? I have the older (red) BB book and they are not in there.

Heritage or Geneva (Kmart) - http://www.kmart.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=114065&Ne=26&N=27&Nty=1&categoryId=27&pCategoryId=26&gpCategoryId=11&nomerch=1

Simplicity - Considering Aspen 4-in-1 (Target) - http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_6/601-0447911-4702510?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B00009ZVN6

Target also has Firenze - http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_1/601-0447911-4702510?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000077W1W

Finally, I think manu. for JC Penney Outlet crib called Convertible 3 in 1 is Storkcraft, right?

If you can let me know your experience or point me towards any review info I would really appreciate it! (I did find Simplicity review in Product Review section of BB.com)

Thanks!

We bought and put together the white Heritage 3 in 1 crib from KMart, it is made by Dorel, it went together easily and quickly with good clear instructions, and the mechanism that moves the side up and down works well. It looks as good as other more expensive ones. FYI we also bought the change dresser which also looks nice and seems pretty good considering the low price BUT it comes completely unassembled, DH needed about 4 hours to put it together...the only thing that could have added to the time was if he'd had to go and cut down the tree himself! This crib is for our second, our first is still in her 3 in 1 Jardine crib from BRU which was also an inexpensive crib but has worked great, held up well for almost 3 years, both cribs look as nice as more expensive ones, especially with cute bedding (I laugh that my Colgate Mattress cost more than the crib).

Hope this helps.
