Does anyone have any experience with The Company Store crib sheets?

Well I recently bought some and was eagerly awaiting their arrival until I read the Good Housekeeping results about their 10-lb force test (you can find it on ivillage by searching under crib sheets). Company Kids sheets failed terribly. I wrote to them today to ask why this is. This was their response (at least it's honest!!) Needless to say, I will be returning my sheets as soon as I get them.

Dear Ms. Braico,

Thank you for your inquiry and concerns. All of our children's bedding does meet the criteria of all Mandatory and Voluntary standards for this type of product. The test that was conducted by Good Housekeeping is currently not a test conducted by the American Society for Testing and Materials. However, it will become a part of their testing in the near future. Our buyers are exploring different types of elastics for our crib sheets to improve their results in this test. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Bailey Browning

UPDATE: here is a link to the Good Housekeeping test showing that Company Kids' crib sheets performed sub-par.

I have a couple of flannel Company Store crib sheets and they are great. I think I may have to get some for our bed. They are very thick and soft.

Initially I purchased about 6 Ulimate Crib Sheets because they were so highly recommended by the Fields and the board. They don't fit my Bellini crib very well however. After a couple of washings about half of them have one elastic that has snapped off. I haven't gotten around to sewing them back on/ replacing them soooo....I'm not using them now.

Anyway, I think the flannel sheet from TCS are great.

I have 3 woven cotton crib sheets from TCS that I have been very pleased with. They fit my crib and mattress beautifully and have held up to 9 months of washing.

I just purchased 3 sets last week. 2 regular and 1 flannel. Will write more once I see what they are like. I must say that I have always purchased their sheets for my own bed and have been more than pleased with the results; however, crib sheets are another story. They do have a great web site and the telephone customer service has always been great, in my experience.

I have several of their woven sheets and think they are great. And I too have had awesome customer service from them. I bought a crib skirt from them and put it on the crib for several weeks before my son was born and then decided I hated it. I called them and explained and they said to return it for a full credit. I think the customer service rep's exact words were - "If you're not happy why should you be stuck with it?"

I highly recommend these folks.

My 3 sets of sheets have arrived and they are perfect. The perfect fit, color, and feel. I am very pleased and have already vowed to only purchase crib sheets from The Company Store.

A while ago, someone brought up some good points about the Good Housekeeping rating system. I can't remember the whole thing, but you might want to search through the boards if you are interested. (An earlier report rated Company Store high.) Anyone, if I remember correctly, the person questioned the way it was rated. They created their own system, I think-not necessarily a standard one. You should check it out.

In anycase, I like my DD's Company Store's sheets. The elastic goes all the way around and is much better than the Carter's Sheets that she also has.
