I am having a difficult time finding baby bedding. My home is very modern. I don't want to decorate the baby's room differently. What's popular is nursery rhymes, story book characters, quilted patterns, pinks and baby blues, frilly and flowery.... Is there anything out there for people who don't want traditional or country styling?

How about just going with solid bedding? You can paint the walls and add a few framed prints that suit your tastes. Or have a mural done.

Have you looked at some of the Wendy Bellissimo styles? You might find something suitable there.

PBK (pottery barn kids) has an excellent selection of neutral bedding. All of DD's bedding and curtains came from them and the quality is excellent. Their sheets have held up better than the Company Kids or Carter's.

Thanks for your reply. I have looked for plain sheets. Eventhough I was hoping to find something with a little more to it. But the colors are so limited. Pink, Blue, Yellow and Green. Do you know where I can find a better variety of choices. I would love orange?

Thanks for you reply. I was thinking about buying something from company kids and carter. Hopefully I can find something.

I am in the same situation you are. Have you looked at the line California Kids? They seem to offer brighter colors with more abstract patterns. Hope this helps.

Company Kids has orange - their flannel is so soft; I highly recommend it!

Did you try a search for contemporary crib bedding? Here's what they think of as contemporary:

Thankyou all for your help. Instead of buying a crib set I will get seperate items for different places. Mostly solids and maybe the crib sheet with a little pattern. I really apprectiate the input.

Another place to look for bright solids is www.babybedding.com . They send free fabric swatches, too.

Hi,

We also have a very modern home/furnishings and wanted the same for the nursery. So far we have painted a mural on the wall and purchased primary colored bedding.

We also have this particular mobile to put over the crib

We have stayput sheets in red from http://www.babysheets.com

Good luck and have fun decorating as long as we all realize this is more for "us" than our babies! :)

Cheers!

Check out Garnet Hill. A little pricey - but some very interesting stuff.
