Limbs through crib slats

I have a high quality bumper and I recently found my acrobatic six month old son w/ one arm underneath the bumper, sticking out of a crib slat. I just went in after he was crying during a nap and found a leg through a slat OVER the bumper.

Any tips or products that prevent this?
