I didn't put a crib bumper in DD's crib because I wanted as little things in her crib as possible (terrified of SIDS). Now that she is 4 months old she able to roll over in her sleep and she often gets her limbs stuck in between the crib slats. Do you think I should put a bumper in her crib or is there some other product I can use to prevent this?

TIA

We took the bumper off for a few days and when Ryan kept getting his legs and arms stuck around that agee and we put it right back on!

I would be scared to think about what other product you would use to prevent this. :) I would just put a bumper on if you find that it is a habit for her to get stuck in the slats. I'm sure she should figure it out though since lots of people don't do bumpers. We are happy bumper users though!

We always used a bumper for that same reason. When we took it out she would get her legs stuck so we put it back in. With DS, we took it out and when he would roll around in the crib he would knock his head against the sides all the time. I think I finally removed the bumper completely around 6 months or so. Before either of them could stand.

Tots in Mind's Crib Tent II might serve the purpose; it has a tent over the top of the crib, and mesh that comes all the way down inside the slats of the crib.

Thanks for your replies. Okay, I'm caving and putting her bumper back on. Hopefully that will help. Last night I had to get up four times in the middle of the night to help her get unstuck.

Thanks again!!

Not to scare you, but "infants most susceptible to SIDS are between the ages of 2 and 4 months with the majority of deaths occurring by 6 months of age". -taken from the sids-org website

That being said, I always have and still do use bumpers for my DD (she's now 18 months).
